Favorite Felis Catus Quotes

My favorite singer, Morrissey, loves cats. If he didn’t, I probably wouldn’t think less of him, but he does, so my love and respect are huge. In a 2007 interview with L.A. Weekly, he said one of my favorite things about cats: “I’m mystified by cats. I see a cat and I’m in a trance and the union begins.” I feel the same way. I have such a tender heart for cats that I cry just thinking about them. I am completely enthralled by their mystery, their love, their softness, their silliness, their dignity…everything. The greatest compliment I ever received was, “When I die, I want to come back as your cat.”

Here are a few of my other favorite cat quotes:

“What greater gift than the love of a cat.” (Charles Dickens)

“The smallest feline is a masterpiece.” (Leonardo da Vinci)

“Time spent with a cat is never wasted.” (Colette)

“I love my cats because I enjoy my home; and little by little, they become its visible soul.” (Jean Cocteau)

“when I am feeling low all I have to do is watch my cats and my courage returns” (Charles Bukowski)

“I am the Cat who walks by himself, and all places are alike to me.” (Rudyard Kipling)

“When a man loves cats, I am his friend and comrade, without further introduction.” (Mark Twain)
